Please join the Tampere Finn-Brits and have a voice in our future activity! While most of our activities are free and open to the public, membership is inexpensive, and as a bonus you will receive the biannual national Finn-Brits Magazine, always a source of knowledge and entertainment. As a member, you will also qualify for discounts on our special fee-based member events; in recent years these discounts have equalled the cost of the fee itself!
Membership rates for 2018 are:
- Students: 5 euros;
- Youth [under 25 years of age]: 5 euros;
- Single member: 15 euros;
- Two members in the same family: 25 euros.
To join, simply e-mail the following details to Secretary Kaarina Ojasti at email@example.com:
- Which type of membership you wish (Student, Single, Family);
- Your name (or both names if it is a family membership);
- Your (postal) mailing address (for your magazine subscription);
- Your e-mail address, to make sure you are on our mailing list.
After registering your information, Kaarina will invoice you for your membership dues. However, to save time you could also pay in advance to Finnish-British Society of Tampere ry, FI3757322620035543, marking it "2018 Membership fee" and your name (or names, if a family membership).
We look forward to welcoming you as a member of the Tampere Finnish-British
Society. Please also spread the word to your friends and others who would be interested in our activities!
Changes for 2018 With the Membership Procedure and Newsletter Mailings
Several changes regarding the Membership Fee and Magazine were made during the April 2018 Annual General Meeting. In the past, a membership fee reminder was included on an insert in the Spring Magazine, and the 'membership year' was from the first of May each year to the following year. (The reason was that the membership fee had needed to be approved by the AGM, which in the past has been in April.)
However, starting in May 2018 the membership fee will be valid through 31 December 2018. Thereafter the membership year will follow the calendar year; next year's membership fee will be due in January 2019.
Paper notices inserted in the Finn-Brit magazine will in future only be used for paid members who do not have e-mail addresses (a very small number). Further, starting in May 2018 only paid members will be receiving the Magazine by mail to their home. Free copies of the current Magazine will continue to be available at our events, but starting this month the print version of the Magazine will only be mailed to paid members, as the cost of mailing is included in the annual membership fee.
Note, however, that a free PDF version of the Magazine is available through the 'Magazines' link of the Federation of Finnish British Societies' website.
